THE SWEDISH CONNECTION: BEHIND THE SCENES

Since his B.A. in film studies at GU, followed by office work at two feature film production houses in Stockholm, Michael has been active in Gothenburg for ten years, both as a freelance videographer and as a screenwriter/director for his own short films, most recently The Intimate Touch (2021) which was shown at festivals around the world, winning several awards. During the pandemic Michael also achieved an M.A. in Intellectual History and has since published a peer-reviewed article in the field. He’s currently developing several film and television projects.

Joakim, a Gothenburg native, ventured into filmmaking and music videos before honing his craft in TV production at Stockholm's Medieinstitutet in 2010. His portfolio boasts several acclaimed short films showcased at prestigious festivals like the Gothenburg International Film Festival and Brest European Short Film Festival. With a decade-long tenure in TV, Joakim's versatile expertise spans editing, cinematography, and the development of web shows, documentaries, and reality TV. His collaborative journey includes renowned companies like SF Studios, Munck Studios, Art & Bob, and Fremantle. In 2016 he made a major step in his directing career with the web show "Thor TV" on SVTplay.
