Though Road is a gamified version of global commerce with the commodity of coffee at its core. It is both a web-based and a physical role-playing game, engaging all the senses when played. The hope is that students who play it will understand the complex conditions that make it difficult for poor farmers to overcome poverty, but also make them realize the importance of their own consumer power by highlighting the opportunities for change that exist.
